Protecting Health and Scientific Research in the Data Protection Regulation

(Brussels, 29 January 2014) The Science Europe Scientific Committee for Medical Sciences supports a statement shared with several other research organisations, calling for a proportionate mechanism for protecting privacy, while enabling health and scientific research to continue. The statement was also signed by two members of Science Europe: the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and the UK Medical Research Council (MRC).

High-Level Workshop on ERA in Bled/Slovenia

(19-20 January 2012) On 19 and 20 January 2012, the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) in co-operation with the Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Science Europe organized a high-level workshop in which more than sixty Ministers as well as high-ranking representatives of Science Europe Member Organisations and the European Commission participated. The overall topic of the workshop was the future of the European Research Area (ERA) and how Science Europe and its Members, the European Union and the Member and Associated States can co-operate to realise ERA.
