Join Science Europe on 21 June to Discuss Why Europe Needs Text and Data Mining

Science Europe and the European Alliance for Research Excellence (EARE) co-organise a seminar on Text and Data Mining (TDM) at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Zdzisław Krasnodębski from the European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR). The seminar, which will take place on Wednesday 21 June from 17.00 to 19.00, will provide an insight into the particularities of TDM and its importance for Europe as an innovative research area. Interested participants must register by 19 June.

Speakers from various fields – research, academia, and start-ups – will present their views on why a broad TDM exception in the Copyright Directive is fundamental in order to put Europe at the forefront of a prosperous and growing digital society. Marie Timmermann, Science Europe Officer for EU Legislation and Regulatory Affairs, will present the Science Europe views on the need for a copyright exception for TDM. Read more.
