Joint statement: MSCA: Research Talent is Europe's Strategic Advantage.
Science Europe has joined a coalition of European research and innovation organisations in publishing a joint statement MSCA: Research Talent is Europe's Strategic Advantage.
Published as discussions on FP10 and the next Multiannual Financial Framework continue, the statement calls for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) to remain a fully bottom-up, excellence-based programme within Pillar I of Horizon Europe, open to all scientific disciplines.
The statement highlights the unique contribution MSCA has made over the past thirty years in developing research talent, strengthening research environments, and supporting Europe's long-term research and innovation capacity. It argues that, rather than changing the programme's purpose, Europe should build on its proven success by increasing investment so that more excellent researchers can be supported.
Together, the signatories call on European decision makers to preserve the features that have made MSCA successful and to strengthen its impact as a cornerstone of Europe's future research and innovation system.
